Amelia woke up at around 5pm and she could hear two voices talking, but it took her a second to realize that it was Daniel and Lucy talking to each other. She got out of bed and splashed some water on her face, brushed her teeth and then went out into the living room to see them talking with each other, the sight of which made her very happy. “Hey sleepyhead, feeling rested,” he said with a sly grin. Amelia chose to ignore the sarcastic question, “Have you been here long?” “About an hour, I have just been getting to know your lovely sister.” Amelia smiled and looked at Lucy, “Thanks for keeping him company while I took a nap,” “No problem, but I’m going to go ahead and take care of some stuff in my room now that you are up.” Daniel said, “please don’t leave because of me,” “I’m not, we have been away from the house for a couple of days, so I have some stuff I need to catch up on,” and she left for her room.
Amelia felt a sense of awkwardness after Lucy left, she wasn’t sure why, probably because they had only been together for a single day. He raised his hand out to her as a gesture for her to take it, which she did, and he pulled her onto the couch next to him. He gave her a kiss on her temple, and whispered in her ear, “You didn’t answer my question, did you think I wouldn’t notice?” “No eagle eye, I was pretty sure that you did notice, I just chose not to dignify your sardonic comment with an answer.” He brushed her hand with his thumb, “Sardonic huh?” She leaned into him with her shoulder with a smirk, “thank you for coming out, how long did it take you to get here?” “About two hours.” “Did Lucy show you around the house?” “Yes, a little, you are right, the view is amazing.” “Are you hungry, I’m not sure what we have to eat, but I’m sure I can find something, or we can order out, there is a good pizza place around the corner if you want that.” “I’m not particularly hungry, at least not for food,” he said with a wolfish grin. “Daniel! Lucy is right in her room, settle down boy.” “Oh honey, I’m no boy, and you know that more than anyone.” She fought the urge to roll her eyes, though with Lucy in her room, what could he do. With his eyes raised he said, “I know you are contemplating whether or not you should roll your eyes at me since Lucy is in her room, please know Amelia I am a patient man, and as Scarlet O’Hara famously said, tomorrow is another day.” Amelia couldn’t help but laugh, “I think we need to put a time limit on…retributions, it’s not exactly fair,” “there is that word again…” “yes I remember, however, I don’t want to be forced to remember every single indiscretion I have for all of eternity..” then in a whisper she continued, “I want to play, that’s why I do it, but any repercussions need to be handled at the next…escapade, otherwise it defeats the purpose, and by the time you decide to follow through with your promises, I have forgotten about them, and I may no longer have that same disposition.” She looked at him with sincerity and an innocence that he found utterly disarming, “sounds fair, but just know that may mean that sometimes those consequences may be foisted upon you at an inopportune time, can you live with that?” “As long as those consequences are inconspicuous, and reasonably quiet.” They shook on it, “deal,” “deal.” Amelia laid her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around her. “I am kinda hungry, do you want to just order pizza?” “Let me check with Lucy, but I’m pretty sure that will be fine with her too.”
The three of them ate and watched a movie together. Amelia kept her distance from Daniel while the three of them were together. She was cognizant of not wanting to make Lucy feel uncomfortable, like the proverbial sixth toe. It honestly felt so weird having a man in their house other than their brother John, for the longest time it’s just been the two of them, and that was fine by both of them. Amelia thought it would always be just the two of them, every man had disappointed her for her entire life including her father and brothers. Amelia looked over at Daniel as he was watching the movie and laughing along with Lucy. Her heart felt full and yet her damn mind was still waiting for the other shoe to drop. He had said and done all the right things, but it had only been one day. Everything happened so quickly, and she was trying her damnedest not to overthink, and trust that after five years of waiting that the universe was telling her it was the right time, finally. Because it is as though he can literally read her mind, he looked over at her and he smiled at her and nodded at her to watch the movie, and she turned her attention back to the movie, it was Spaceballs, a classic. Lucy said goodnight to them both after the movie ended, and went to bed.
Daniel looked over at Amelia, “I can sense you’re overthinking; do you want to talk about it.” “Can you read my mind; how did you know that?” “Aren’t you the one that says that we share a soul? Don’t worry sweetheart, I can’t read your mind, but I can feel it when you are worried.” “Every man has disappointed me Daniel, I’m scared.” “I’m an imperfect man, and you are an imperfect woman, we are going to disappoint each other, stop focusing on the negative, enjoy the moment, instead of worrying about what may go wrong.” Amelia couldn’t help but give him a tight hug when he told her that, “you seem to know exactly what I need to hear.” “Same soul…” “funny how I wrote the book, yet you are the one who keeps reminding me.” “One of us has to be able to talk the other off the ledge, it will be your turn soon enough.” “Apparently I owe you a couple talks off of a ledge,” “Well I know one way to make it up to me.” His eyes darkening as he licked his lips while his eyes never once left her gaze, “would you like to give me a tour of your bedroom now?” Amelia wasn’t quite sure why he always seemed to make her blush, but she led him to her bedroom.
Daniel watched as she nervously led him to her room, wondering when she would finally get over the awkwardness. Her room was nice, very girlie with a lot of pink, and also had an amazing view of the Napa River. “Why do you keep the blinds shut?” “The wall of windows while absolutely breathtaking, makes the house feel like an oven, so we keep the cellular shades closed during the day, otherwise the house it just way too hot.” He was still holding her hand when he pulled her into a tight hug, “why are you nervous, is it because of Lucy being here,” she smiled, “No she’s deaf and can barely hear me when I’m speaking to her face to face, let alone through walls and around corners. And I wouldn’t say nervous, it’s just been quite a while since I have had a man in my bed.” “Apparently, it’s like riding. bike, because you didn’t seem the least bit rusty last night.” “So, are you the bike in this metaphor?” “Wanna take me for a spin,” he said with a rapacious smile. “Careful, I have a bag of tricks in my closet.” His eyes got very big, as he pulled slightly away from her, “really…well now you have to show me your…bag of tricks.” “Do I? Hmmm maybe later,” she said with a puckish grin. “I can be rather persuasive,” a giggle escaping from her lips, “Are you now? I have always been a firm believer in actions speaking louder than words.” He kissed her deeply and passionately, biting her bottom lip he moved to her neck and was agonizingly slow with his approach. Amelia could feel her knees buckle, the things this man could do with his lips and tongue, and she could feel his grin against her throat. She didn’t even care that he was gloating, they were both getting exactly what they wanted. She didn’t know quite how he did it, but his hands felt like they were everywhere, her hair, her breasts, her ass, and she pictured him as an octopus and the thought made her laugh, and he stopped to look at her, “something funny?” “How many hands do you have? It’s like you’re an octopus.” “Just the two, I’m just adept at using them.” “Yes, indeed you are, Sir.” That single word instantly made him hard, and he tugged her tank top off and her pants down and pushed her onto the bed. “Are these $110 panties or am I free to do with them as I please.” “I don’t care, do whatever you want.” “Such a good girl, sometimes.” He waited for her to be a smart ass, but she held her tongue. He laid himself on top of her as he kissed her lips, and then her neck, moving down her body with the precision of a Michelin Star rated chef savoring every single inch of her. His hands claiming her nipples, and then moving to her sex, and his expert fingers bringing her to the brink of ecstasy with each flick of his fingers. His mouth continued moving down her body, now at the junction of her thighs. Her hands were in his hair, tugging gently as his tongue found her clitoris and he encircled it slowly and gently at first, gradually increasing intensity with each lick of his tongue. She could feel herself beginning to tip over and he inserted two fingers inside of her, and that was all it took, she exploded around him.
“Hey, come back to me,” Daniel said as Amelia was still mid orgasm, “come back to earth, I want to say something to you.” Amelia could hear him, but her mind was simply elsewhere, she doesn’t know how to explain it, but it is almost like an out of body experience. Her eyes were closed and as he kept calling her name, she finally opened them and in a very chaotic voice asked, “what…what are you saying?” “Open your eyes and look at me, I want to say something to you, and I want to make sure that you hear me.” Amelia slowly blinked her eyes as her senses started returning to her, she looked at him still somewhat confused, and asked, “what is it?” “I want to tell you that I love you too.” That immediately got her attention, “wait…what? And what do you mean too?” “Remember when I said you say some surprising things during an orgasm, well you tell me all the time that you love me. Only it’s not really you, it’s almost like it’s your soul speaking through you. You say that you have loved me in lifetimes before, that your heart felt it immediately when we met, long before your brain ever realized. I just let you talk, figuring you have no clue what you are saying because when you come back to earth, you act as though you have no inkling what you said, and we both know you can’t lie.” Amelia was stunned into silence, as Daniel stared intently at her, her mouth agape. He was still in between her legs so he moved over so that he was lying next to her. “Say something,” “Do I say anything else?” “You mention that our lifetimes together are your happiest, and that you look forward to them since we don’t get to spend every one of them together, and that’s about it.” “Apparently my soul is a Chatty Cathy.” Daniel couldn’t help but smile when she said that and said, “do you have anything to say about what I said?” His eyes searched hers for some sort of reaction. Amelia took his hand in hers and she said, “I love you too Daniel, and for some reason, it doesn’t feel weird to say it, even though it should.” “That’s why I decided to say it, plus you know I get credit for saying it first,” he said with a smirk. That made Amelia chuckle, “do you? I mean per your own confession; I have told you numerous times.” “Yeah, but YOU didn’t know that. I made sure that YOU heard me, ergo, I said it first.” She really couldn’t argue with his reasoning, she didn’t remember telling him any of that, and quite honestly, she was horrified that she didn’t. The thought that her soul was such a fucking blabber mouth terrified her, God only knows what else she has said unbeknownst to her. “OK, yes you get credit for saying it first, though you already knew how I felt, sooooooooo you know it’s really only partial credit.” “That wasn’t easy for me to do, I could have just continued to ignore it.” She straddled him and kissed him softly, “Yes you could have, you are a very sweet man Daniel, and you are right, that was brave of you. Thank you for telling me, and for loving me, I know I don’t always make it easy for people to do so.” He sat up so that they were nose to nose, “You are very easy to love, and you are no more difficult than I am.” She started kissing him, “you are wearing entirely too many clothes,” she said as she took his t-shirt off. He rolled her onto her back as he took his pants off, and he looked into her eyes and told her that he loved her, she could feel her eyes begin to well with tears, and he gently wiped them away. They made love to each other, losing themselves completely in one another. The world fell away, it was just the two of them, and as they reached their climax, they both said the others’ name.
As their senses came back, they just lay next to each other talking for hours about everything. They talked about their childhoods, family, relationship with their parents. They talked about the significant exes, their goals, travel, what they would do if they won the lottery, and everything and anything that came to mind. They eventually fell asleep in each other’s arms, feeling safe and most importantly completely loved by the other.
