Amelia woke up hot and thirsty with Daniel’s arm wrapped around her still, she moved as slowly and quietly as possible so as not to wake him. It was about 2am, so she put her pj’s back on and went out to get something to drink and turn the AC on. She went to the fridge and got herself a glass of milk and a spoonful of peanut butter, her favorite quick nighttime snack. She heard her bedroom door crack and Daniel stepped out wearing his jeans and t-shirt. “I’m sorry did I wake you,” “no, but when I moved my arm, you weren’t there so I got up.” “You don’t look particularly comfortable in your jeans, I have some bottoms you can wear, I like men’s bottoms because the legs are longer and don’t ride up while I sleep.” “I have a bag in the car, I just didn’t want to look like I was moving in.” Amelia was dipping her spoonful of peanut butter into her glass of milk and Daniel looked strangely at her, “what are you doing?” “I’m splitting the atom; I mean what does it look like I’m doing?” Daniel arched a brow at her, “Oh settle down boy, I’m having a snack.” “I can see that, why are you dipping peanut butter into a glass of milk?” “Because I like it, don’t knock it until you tried it. Are you hungry, you did exert yourself?” Daniel smirked and walked around her and hugged her from behind and kissed her neck. She tried to turn around and face him, but he held her in place. “Be still, I’m enjoying myself.” His started moving his hands, first to fondle her breasts and then he started moving his hand down lower, he whispered in her ear, “this elastic waistband is VERY convenient,” and he slipped his hand into her pants and started caressing her entrance, “already wet,” and he groaned in her ear and turned her around to face him. Her face flushed with desire, and he quickly withdrew his hand. “I think I am hungry, is there anymore pizza?” The disappointment on her face made him want to laugh, but he slapped her on the butt and got himself a slice of pizza to heat up. “What’s with the stink eye, did I make you…hungry?” Amelia’s eyes narrowed, but she just smiled at him sweetly, thinking two could play at this game. She took the spoon and started licking the peanut butter off. She wasn’t being overtly sexual, she ate it as she normally did, but men are just such simple creatures, and she was so very good at playing dumb. “I know what you are trying to do,” he said with a devious grin, “I’m eating my snack,” she replied. His eyes darkened, and the smile disappeared from his face. His eyebrows raised as he said, “Is that the game you want to play?” “I’m sure I have no clue what you are talking about, I’m simply enjoying a sweet treat.” He stalked over to her, their eyes fixed on each other, both not saying anything as their breath began to quicken. They were playing chicken, and neither wanted to swerve first. Amelia could feel her resolve waning, as she held the spoon in her hand. Daniel flinched first, he grabbed the hand with the spoon and pulled her against him where she could feel his erection. Their eyes still fixed on each other, his mouth achingly close to hers, but he wasn’t budging, “fuck it,” she said as she leaned in and started kissing him passionately. It suddenly occurred to her that Lucy was in her room just around the corner, and as she went to pull away, Daniel wouldn’t let her. “Lucy is sleeping in her room,” she said breathlessly, and with a devilish expression he murmured, “remember those consequences I spoke about, this is going to be extremely quick, and you are going to be as quiet as a church mouse and not wake her up, do you understand me?” His question was rhetorical, he turned her around and unzipped his pants, pulled hers down only as much as was necessary and sank into her from behind. She let out a soft moan, and he immediately covered her mouth and hissed, “SSSHHHHH” in her ear, his pace was fast and unrelenting, she couldn’t even catch her breath. His hands reached around to her clitoris and his fingers moved maddeningly slow, in concert with his rhythmic thrusting he had her close to her release, he whispered, “cum for me,” and she did, trying desperately not to make a sound but a soft gasp escaped, his release came immediately after. He quickly pulled her pants back up and zipped up his jeans and kissed the back of her neck. “I wasn’t going to let you cum, but I decided to be nice.” “What a gentleman.” He gently swatted her backside again and finished his slice of pizza, all while casually sitting at the counter as if he didn’t just fuck her. “You should’ve been an actor, with how nonchalant you are being right now.” “Can you please grab me a libation princess?” “I do not care for princess, if anything I’m a Queen get it right, and what would you like?” “Does that mean I’m the King?” “More like the Prince Consort,” she said with a smirk. He arched his brow at her in a “is that so” sort of gesture and replied, “sparkling water please, my Queen.” She got him one from the fridge, placed in front of him and kissed his temple and whispered, “for you, my Liege.”
While lying in bed, Amelia’s head on his chest and his arm caressing her back and shoulder, Daniel asked her if everything was always going to be a competition with her, “I’m one of eight siblings Daniel, competition comes with the territory. Why, does it bother you?” “So far no this is playful, and I find it rather tempting in that aspect.” “I mean it is what makes me want to be the best at EVERYTHING I do,” she said with a coy expression. “So that’s what I missed being an only child?” “Eh, it’s not everything it’s cracked up to be. We used to have so much fun, we’d play board games together, drink and laugh. We can’t play Trivial Pursuit though, because we would get vicious over it. Not that it matters anymore.” A sadness came over her, she tried not to think back on fond memories with her family, it was always bittersweet. While she had made up with the brothers she wanted to, there was still a deep sense of sadness and anger associated with those memories. Anger at a religion that pits family against each other in the guise of bringing the “Prodigal Son” back into the “flock of God.” What all religion is, is a way to control the masses, and an excuse for men to do despicable things all in the name of a God. And shunning family is cruel, and emotional blackmail. Daniel could sense her distress, leaned down and kissed the top of her head and said, “I’m sorry, I know that’s a touchy subject for you, I didn’t intend for this to be a serious discussion.” She nuzzled her head into his chest, and hugged him tightly, “It’s ok, it is what it is. I try not to think about it all the time, but I loved my family, and now that my parents are both gone, we have no anchor anymore, and as painful as it is to acknowledge my brothers don’t really care about me. Their love is conditional, and I just won’t give them any more of my soul.” He could feel her tears on his chest, he didn’t say anything, he just held her tightly and gently wiped them away. Amelia didn’t like crying in front of anyone, she barely even cried in front Lucy the only exception being when her parents died, she couldn’t have stopped the tears then if she tried, especially when her mom passed. Crying was reserved for at night, in her bed, alone. Technically she was in bed, and it was night, two out of three isn’t so bad. The thought made her slightly chuckle. “Something funny hon?” “I was thinking how I don’t ever cry in front of people; I cry alone in bed at night, and then the thought two out of three isn’t so bad, popped into my head.” “You don’t have to cry alone anymore.” She looked up at him, both of their eyes glistening with unshed tears, and they kissed gently at first, but then it turned fervent quickly. They needed each other, and the exquisite release of endorphins that came with their climax. They both eagerly answered the siren call.
She could hear her cats scratching on the door to be fed, those jerks didn’t care that it was a Saturday, or that it was 5am. Amelia dragged herself out of bed and put her clothes back on, again. This time Daniel did not move, by the time she finished feeding them and washing the dishes he was still fast asleep and snoring, on her side of the bed. She couldn’t help but stare at how cute he looked, hugging her body pillow, so she just got in on his side of the bed and wrapped her arms around him as the big spoon. He reflexively wrapped his arms around hers and they slept in till probably 9am, when the sun peaking in through the shades finally woke them. “How did I wind up over here?” “I went to feed the cats at 5am, and when I came back to bed you had scooched over to my side, and you looked so cute I just let you stay where you were.” He rolled back to face her, and he said, “you feed your cats at 5am?” “If I don’t the cats will just keep scratching on the door until I do, I can usually fall back to sleep after I do.” She snuggled into his chest, but she could hear his stomach grumble and they both laughed. “I guess that’s my hint to go make breakfast.” “You don’t have to make me breakfast, I’m a big boy, I can make myself something.” “Oh, I’m well aware what a ‘BIG’ boy you are,” she said with a devilish smile and glint in her eye, Daniel couldn’t help but laugh and shake his head at her. “I need food before…what is it…round twelve.” “It’s thirteen, but who is counting,” she said satirically. He kissed her forehead, “where are those pajama pants you spoke about, and I’m going to make us breakfast.” She got him some pj’s and he made them all breakfast.
They decided to go for a drive in Sonoma County, which is where Daniel grew up. Both Amelia and Daniel asked Lucy to come with them, but she said her back was bothering her, so she just wanted to rest this weekend. While in the driveway Amelia offered to drive, but Daniel said it would be easier if he drove since he knew where he was going. Amelia had to admit some rather licentious ideas came into her mind, and unbeknownst to her a cryptic grin formed on her face. Daniel shook his head and smirked at her, “while I like where your dirty little mind went, we are in our forties, and we know better, and if we got caught it would be disastrous for my career,” and he gave her a kiss on the forehead. “I’m sure I have no idea what you are talking about,” she replied as innocently as possible. “You say that quite a bit, and yet I have always seemed to be right in my initial assessment of the situation.” Amelia couldn’t help but to bite her lip to stifle her smile, unfortunately she was unsuccessful in the attempt, “fine, I’ll behave.” He pulled her into him and gave her a smoldering kiss in the driveway, she tried to pull away, but he held her tightly, when he finally released her, she was slightly dazed. “Do I need to take you into the house before we leave or will that suffice Miss Insatiable.” “I’m sated Mr. Hillard,” she said in a slightly snipped tone. Daniel opened the passenger door for her, and then he got into the car.
Amelia knew that she was being juvenile, and that he was right, but her inner sixteen year old never got to come out when she was sixteen, and every once in a while, she needed to let her free. This was normally done every other year when her favorite boy band from her childhood, New Kids on the Block, would come to town, but even they were getting up there, and who knew if they would be returning. She wasn’t sure what she was being pouty about, or why she felt the need to push Daniel’s buttons so much. Maybe subconsciously she was trying to push him away because every man had disappointed her, but she knew that it wasn’t fair to punish Daniel for someone else’s crimes. She had given him multiple chances to walk away with no hard feelings, and he stayed. It is weird, this is a brand spanking new relationship, but because of their connection it felt more like they had known each other for years. While that may have been true for their souls, in this iteration it had literally been two days. She glanced over at Daniel, he had been silent when he got back into the car, and his eyes were on the road. She could tell he was contemplating, and she hoped he wasn’t thinking “what have I gotten myself in to.” She held out her hand to him, and she saw him smile as he grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips and kissed it. “I’m sorry Daniel, I don’t know why I’m being petulant.” “I do,” “do you now, that’s a neat trick considering I don’t know.” “You are feeling insecure and trying to see if you can push me away, regardless of our past, we don’t really know each other that well, and you are still trying to decide if I can be trusted. Either that, or you are hoping that I punish you for being a brat.” Amelia couldn’t help but giggle, “maybe it’s both.” “Just so you know, if we were at my apartment, I would have meted out some consequences for the snark. I will want to peruse your bag of tricks when we get back, something tells me there will be just the thing you need located within it.” She gulped and her eyes got big while she tried to hide her excitement at the thought. “As tempting as the thought is, that might be best saved for a time when Lucy is not within earshot.” “Newton’s third law Amelia, you gave your parameters, and I gave mine and we BOTH agreed to the terms, we even shook on it.” He had her there. “Relax Amelia, I would never do anything you..” “I know, I don’t know if I’m more scared or excited at the prospect.” “A little bit of both I imagine,” he said with a devilish grin. “I kinda wish I said we should go back into the house now,” she said grinning broadly. He caressed her hand with his thumb, and he shifted in his seat, “lets change the subject shall we, otherwise I may very well drive back to the house.”
Amelia thought about how affectionate she used to be when she was younger, and how much Matt had changed her. He never wanted to hold her hand, never wanted to show any form affection for her. Amelia knew that that was because Matt was ashamed of her. It would break her heart when she would hear how he would be all over whatever current skank he was dating, yet he would never do that for her. They wouldn’t see each other for months, and when they finally did see each other, they would have sex two times. Matt had really done a number on her self-esteem. Always telling her how needy she was, that she should be happy with whatever scraps he gave her because “it is what it is.” Amelia had convinced herself that that was all she deserved, it’s not like her brother’s hadn’t basically told her the same thing growing up. “You would be so pretty if you lost weight,” “you sure are making those shoes put in extra work.” Keep in mind these were grown men in their twenties – thirties telling this to a teenage girl. Her parents didn’t hand out any words of encouragement either. It was not their generation’s MO to do so. Her dad was born during a flood in Kentucky during the tail end of the Great Depression, and her mother was born in Germany during the rise of Hitler. Compliments and coddling were simply not in their repertoire. All those things had changed her, she no longer expected anyone to show her any affection. They were not a huggee family, or overly affectionate. She was always affectionate with her nieces and nephews and has always been. She rarely ever called them by their names, they were always “baby,” even now she still calls Kenneth’s kids “baby,” and they were in their thirties. But with everyone else she shied away from showing affection. Their family was sarcastic, and teased each other relentlessly, her brothers would take it to extremes; she was their favorite target, because she constantly took their bait. Amelia realized she was always defending herself, because no one else ever did. Amelia was sarcastic as well, but she was cognizant of not being cruel. Teasing is one thing, but cruelty was something else. Some of her family liked to hide cruelty under the guise of sarcasm. Amelia was staring out her window, still holding Daniel’s hand, she wasn’t sure how long she had been sitting quietly staring out the window thinking. When she looked over at him, he was observing her with a concerned look on his face, “are you ok Amelia, you have been pretty quiet for the last twenty minutes.” “Just thinking, which I know is dangerous,” she said with a halfhearted smile. He nodded his head, Amelia could tell he looked uneasy with that response, “don’t worry, it’s not about you, I was just remembering what an affectionate person I used to be, and how my much my past issues with Matt, and my family has made me shut down the affectionate part of myself. I’m not used to someone wanting to willingly hold my hand, or kiss me so freely out in the open, I’m used to people being ashamed of me,” as those last words came out, she could feel a lump forming in her throat and her eyes instantly filled with tears. She shook her head to get them to go away, but they started to fall, and she started apologizing. “What are you apologizing for? That’s what I’m here for, you can tell me anything, we both have trauma from our pasts, and I’m sorry anyone made you feel that way. You are beautiful, and amazing and you have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. I’m a little embarrassed to say this, but that’s why I called into the radio station, I wanted people to know you were taken.” Amelia smiled, “I figured you were marking your territory.” “Are you calling me a dog?” “More like a feral cat.” They both laughed at her response. “I think you need more reassurance than I do, because I have your book. I have written tangible proof of how you feel about me. You were the one who asked me out, it’s only natural after so many years of rejection and hurt that you are skeptical of my feelings. I’m so sorry that I added to your feeling of insecurity.” “Stop, there is no need to apologize, it wasn’t the right time for you. I’m not angry or upset in the least. I’m sorry for needing constant reassurance, I’m sure it will subside with time, and it’s not my intention to make you feel bad. Intrusive thoughts tend to permeate my mind no matter how much I try to keep them at bay. I always imagine the worst case scenario, because I foolishly think that will make me feel “prepared” if the worst does happen. It took my parents dying for me to realize that no matter how prepared I think I am, I can never truly know how anything will play out until it happens.” She could feel the tears forming again in her eyes, along with the lump in her throat, as she continued, “I missed you so much during those five years, I somehow knew that you would be able to help me heal all the broken parts of my soul. Now I’m in disbelief that you are here, I keep waiting to wake up and find out it’s been a dream.” Daniel pinched her thigh, “Nope I’m real.” “Yes, yes you are, and you are wonderful, and kind, and patient, and sweet, and more that I deserve.” Daniels jaw tightened, “you deserve everything you want Amelia; I just can’t believe it’s me.” Amelia squeezed his hand, “you have some redeeming qualities,” she said with a wanton smile. Daniel gave her a roguish look, “only a few.” Amelia crossed her legs to stifle her arousal, and her own unique hue of pink tinged her cheeks. Daniel smirked at her involuntary response, “just wait till I open your bag of tricks.”
Daniel showed her the house he grew up in, his elementary school, middle school and high school. He talked about his experience in junior college and how it changed his life, which is why he chose to teach at Oceanview College. His experience was so wonderful there and life changing that he wanted to hopefully do the same thing for other people struggling. Amelia explained how much she loved Oceanview, how going there changed her life in so many ways. That the professors were so wonderful and kind, how it was the first place and first time in her life someone told her that her opinion mattered. “And well, it’s where I met you, so Oceanview will always have a special place in my heart.” “It will always hold a special place in my heart for the same reason,” he replied. They continued to reminisce as they drove around the area. Lucy’s ex Gabe had a cabin up along the Russian River, so she had a little knowledge of the area, and she mentioned how they would eat at Negri’s in Occidental whenever they would spend the weekend up at the cabin. “My family and I loved that place too,” Daniel responded. She also mentioned how her and Lucy had taken their mom up to Jenner, that they would usually take their mom on day trips, they had gone to Monterey, Big Sur, Jenner, Santa Cruz, places they could get to in one to two hours and then hang out at. She told him how much her parents absolutely loved roller coasters, and the Giant Dipper was their favorite, they were in the forties and would run to get back on the ride as soon as they got off, like they were kids.
They decided to stop off at Café Aquatica in Jenner to get something to eat. It was an amazing view and is where the Russian River empties out into the Pacific Ocean. They ordered sandwiches and continued talking about their past to each other. The cafe had live musicians, and it was nice to just sit in the sun and listen to the music. They spoke about their mothers, which was still a difficult topic for the both of them. “It makes me so sad that you will never get to meet my mom, she would have loved you. But she loved everyone, my dad was the one who was impossible to impress. He would have probably asked you if you knew what you were getting yourself into with me.” Daniel had to laugh, “I’m sure you exaggerate about that.” “This is a man who told his three daughters that they were ok to look at, but that none of us could hold a candle to our mom. Which is the sweetest insult I think I have ever heard. I can’t say that I blame my dad, my mother was stunning,” and Amelia showed Daniel a picture of what her mother looked like when they first met, “she was beautiful, but personally I think you are equally beautiful, if not more so.” If they weren’t sitting in Adirondak chairs she would have given him a kiss, so she settled on squeezing his hand and saying, “well you have to say that don’t you, but I’m glad you said it just the same.” “Your mom was the most beautiful woman in the world to your dad, and for me Amelia, you are.” Amelia was glad she had sunglasses on because she could feel her eyes welling up with tears, and she just stared off at the water silently. Daniel could tell she was feeling overcome, so he got up and pulled her to her feet, “let’s go for a walk along the beach for a little bit before we get back into the car.” When they made it to the beach, he asked her if she was ok. She looked at him and smiled nodding her head. He removed her glasses and asked, “then what are those about?” pointing at her tears. “Those are happy tears Daniel; you make me very, very happy. My timbers are thoroughly shivered.” He pulled her into an embrace, unconcerned with anyone else around them. He hugged her with his whole body, his arms enveloping her, she leaned into the crook of his neck as he held on to her. She melted into him, he made her feel so safe, so loved, so cherished, unlike anyone else has ever done. After about five minutes he pulled her away from him to look into her eyes, the tears long gone. “That’s better, happy tears or not,” and kissed the tip of her nose, and they walked back to the car.
They listened to music on the way back to the house and sang and danced along in their seats to just about every type of music that there was. Amelia loved music from every decade, the fifties and sixties because of her parents, the seventies and eighties because of her siblings, and the nineties through to the present day because of her. She could listen to Elvis Presley, followed by Hall and Oates, Creedence Clearwater Rival, Dr. Dre, One Direction and Taylor Swift, it just depended on her mood. Daniel was much the same way. As they got closer to the house, Amelia started fidgeting in her seat, “do you have to pee, or are you just thinking about the bag of tricks?” he said with an ominous grin. “Both actually, but probably more the latter than the former.” That made him have to shift in his seat as well. “There are some things in the case that I’m not really keen on using, they were bought on a whim, and well I just don’t think it will be something that I will wind up enjoying.” Daniel looked at her with a questioning expression, “you got me nervous now,” “Oh it’s not anything sinister, if you must know, I bought a ball gag, and I do not think that I will like it, though I’m sure you would love that it will keep me quiet.” He tried to keep from smiling but couldn’t. “I know a far better way to keep you quiet,” and he winked at her.
