Twin Flames, Two Souls Journey Through Time – The Professor - Chapter 7

Amelia wanted to understand her feelings about Daniel.  She had always been interested in astrology, which she knew would make Daniels eyes roll so hard that they might actually fall out of his head.  She would listen to various readers on YouTube and one day she was listening to one she liked, and she mentioned a term that Amelia had never heard before, called a “twin flame;” and as she was doing the reading it sounded as though she was talking about her and Daniel.  It is basically two individuals who share the same soul.  They are a mirror reflection of each other, they echo your same qualities and traits, good and bad.  There is this inner pull towards them, a feeling as though you have known them your entire life, it is an immediate and intense attraction.  Your body reacts to their presence, with physical sensations, seeing flashes of light or color, perhaps hearing ringing in your ears.  You can sense them when they are around you, even when they are just thinking about you your body reacts.  They look at you with such intensity because they are seeing past your physical body, and looking into your soul, and they will stare because their soul is trying to reconnect with your soul.  As Amelia continued reading about the many signs of a twin flame connection a sense of calm came over her, she finally understood what was going on.  It all made sense now.  How she was instantly a smart ass on her first day of class, how her body flushed whenever she was around him, how she could feel him whenever he was in her vicinity even before hearing or seeing him.  The way his eyes seemed to pierce directly through to her soul.  The intense chemistry that practically called to her as a beacon, a feeling so strong that she had to keep her distance from him for fear of what would transpire if they happened to touch.  A feeling so exhilarating and overwhelming that she honestly believed that she would not be able to contain herself.  Amelia knew she didn’t possess the requisite self-control, and quite honestly, she was unsure if any human could, because it was so powerful that she thought it would require someone with superhuman strength.

There is a difference between a soul mate and a twin flame, a twin flame is part of your soul, while a soul mate is someone with whom your soul feels comfortable with.  They can be friends, siblings, lovers, they take many forms.  Amelia knew her sister Lucy was a soul mate, and she wondered if that was why she called her momma Lucy as a toddler, because she had been her mother in a previous life.  From what Amelia was reading, you make contracts with people that are part of your soul family before you come back to earth, each lifetime is supposed to be lesson that your soul needs to learn to progress, and your soul mates are there to help you along your journey.  A twin flame will also usually spark a spiritual awakening in you.  Amelia had always experienced déjà vu, even as a little kid she would do something and then all of a sudden, this intense feeling would hit her that this was familiar.  It is why she had known even as a little kid that there was one person she was meant to meet.  One person with whom she was meant to live her life, one person that was here specifically for her.  Amelia could have been married multiple times if she wanted to be, but she was not the type to settle in fact that concept was completely foreign to her.  She wanted what she wanted, and nothing else was good enough.  She had thought that Matt was that person, not her twin, because as much as she loved Matt, she never had the same feelings for him as she did for Daniel.  She had butterflies, and she loved him, but now that she had met Daniel, she realized that that relationship was nothing more than a lesson she needed to learn.  Matt had taught her that she needed to love herself before she could ever love anyone else.  Matt had told her once that she didn’t have the looks or the figure to be so picky, and that she needed to settle for whoever was willing to be with her.  Whenever she thought back to the heinous things he had said to her, it always made Amelia angry.  She wanted so badly to go back in time and smack herself upside the head.  One particular incident always makes her see red, she had driven down to Riverside from San Francisco having taken three days off from work, and was going down to help him get his case with child support cleared up for his youngest daughter.  Amelia was going to go to the child support office to talk to them on behalf of Matt, since Matt had to work.  In fact, Amelia did everything for him, paid his bills, fixed his credit so that he could buy the house he was living in, she even signed the paperwork for him as she could forge his signature, and could rattle off his social security number as easily as her own.  She drove seven hours to his job in Anaheim, bought him dinner from his favorite restaurant, and then drove them to his home in Riverside while he ate dinner in the car.  When they got to his house, some girl he was sleeping with called him and drove to his house, he went out and spoke to her for over an hour, and at some point he even left with her.  Amelia was so angry and hurt she was going to pack up her car and drive back home, that little whore could drive him to work at 5am, like she was going to do, and she could go to the child support office and talk to them on his behalf.  To this day Amelia is still infuriated at herself for staying, and this mother fucker had the audacity to be mad at her for texting the side piece from his phone, (which he left on the nightstand), asking where the hell he was and that he needs to get his ass home.  All Amelia knew was that she would never again let any man treat her so disrespectfully.  With her there was no such thing as three strikes you’re out, she gave people one strike while dating, especially early on.  A person is going to be the most kind, the most patient, the most everything in the beginning of a relationship when you are first getting to know someone because you want to make a good impression.  If you fuck that up then you clearly do not really care, and she wasn’t into wasting her time.  She had tried online dating, but it was such a dumpster fire.  She had met a couple of nice guys, but the vast majority were just awful, and most didn’t make it past a first date.  She also usually paid because her father taught her never to owe anything to anyone especially a man.  She had forsworn dating, and then she met Daniel.

Meeting Daniel had awoken every single molecule in her body, he simply felt like home.  It was as though she was experiencing life for the first time.  This feeling is overwhelming, frightening even.  No one had ever made Amelia feel the way Daniel did, no one had ever truly seen Amelia like Daniel.  While she knew she wasn’t ugly, she just thought of herself as ordinary, and Daniel looked at her as though she was Christmas morning.  That she was the best gift he had ever received, and that he couldn’t wait to rip off the wrapping paper and start playing with her.  Amelia smiled lasciviously and bit her bottom lip at the thought.  Daniel was her Christmas morning, at least what she envisioned Christmas morning being like as a child.  Her family’s religion didn’t celebrate Christmas, or birthdays, or any holidays, so she never got to experience the magic that a child feels waking up and seeing the presents under the tree.  The magic of the moment, where everything seems right with the world.  When she looked at Daniel, she was transported back to fourth grade, and she got the feeling she imagined she would have had opening the cabbage patch doll that she had always wanted.  He was what made her world make sense.  While absolutely everything in her personal life was crashing down around her, whenever she was in his presence she could breathe.  He was the oxygen in her lungs, the blood in her veins, the spark that set her soul on fire.  He believed in her, was always encouraging, always kind, always patient, and so incredibly smart.  He was handsome, had the sexiest voice, and she thoroughly enjoyed staring at his ass every time he was at the white board, especially when he wore his green pants, those hugged him so deliciously.  She knew that she wasn’t the only person who thought so either, she had read his reviews on ratemyprofessor.com and there were a couple of his students who commented on his looks, which made Amelia both laugh and feel oddly territorial over him.  She knew that was silly, he didn’t belong to her, he’s a human being not a possession, but her heart said otherwise.  Her soul knew what her mind and heart couldn’t agree on, that not only did he belong to her, but she belonged to him.  He had ownership of her, her mind, her heart, her very soul.  In fact, the reason she had such a visceral reaction whenever she was around him was because her soul was finally complete, he felt like home because he was her home, her shelter from the storm.  The realization was heady, fraught with anxiety and fear.  Regardless of how she felt, or how she was pretty sure Daniel felt, we are all beings with free will, and we don’t always do what’s in our best interest.  If we did, we would all be in shape, and rehab facilities wouldn’t exist.  There was still the very real probability that despite everything Daniel would still say no, she would be sad of course, but at least she would know, and if the answer was no, she could move on.  The fall semester was getting ready to start, so whatever his answer was going to be, she would have it soon.
